leaves no room for imagination or creativity
Essay 1: This is true, the current education system has
sucked out the imagination and creativity from the minds of students. The
curriculum focuses a lot on bookish knowledge and forces students to remember
the same thing that is there in their textbooks, there is no room for
imagination or coming up with own ideas, even those who dare to come up with
something new are often scolded and penalised by giving them low scores in
their tests. This is a serious problem, the world right now needs imaginative
people who can solve complex real-time problems with ease. Students must be
taught things which are outside the box. The curriculum must contain a fair
amount of extracurricular activities which not only make learning fun but also
improves the cognitive and reasoning abilities of students. The curriculum
which is now taught in schools and colleges does not work in this modern era
and most certainly needs a makeover soon. The curriculum must in fact focus
more on the overall personality development along with the knowledge of their
respective specialization. Students must be encouraged to think on their feet
and the curriculum must include certain case studies that makes the students
understand real world problems.
Essay 2: The tight
curriculum has done more harm than good for students of all ages. Students are
nowadays seen constantly reading one or the other book, only to write the
answers that are asked in the exam, not to understand or apply practically. The
tight curriculum has resulted in students disliking what they are doing and
also have failure rate, since it is almost impossible for students to keep up
with the difficult and unachievable goals that the curriculum sets. Students
are often seen complaining about the long and lengthy answers which have no
practical approach. This curriculum has to be changed or else the imagination
and desire to learn new things will vanish from a student’s mind. This is
certainly a serious problem and must be dealt by giving students practical lessons,
the curriculum must also include sports, games and other team building,
personality building activities. The curriculum must be student friendly
instead of a curriculum which only has bookish and pointless knowledge in it.
Students must be asked about their opinion for any changes within the
curriculum and the desired changed must be brought as soon as possible. A
student centred curriculum is the need of the hour to retain the imagination
and problem solving abilities within a student.
Essay 3: The tight curriculum is ruining the problem
solving, imaginative and critical thinking of students and the need of the hour
is to change the curriculum. Students are forced to think in a particular and
that does not develop any imaginative skills and instead forces the student to
stop using his/her analytical mind. Students from a young age must use their
analytical side because that is very essential in this modern world. Team
building activities like sports, competitions like elocutions, debates, JAM
sessions must be added in the curriculum to develop the all round abilities of
any student. The curriculum must also lessen theoretical knowledge and focus
more practical and interactive learning. This might be difficult to enrol as
you go higher in the education hierarchy there is a lot of emphasis on
theoretical knowledge, but with proper guidance and strong basics any student
can overcome any difficulty as he/she has practically understood the topic and
can express the same in his/her own words. The universities must also
acknowledge and promote interactive teaching and learning, and must also test
the problem solving ability of each and every student. This can certainly
change our education system and make the students sharper and smarter.
Essay 4: The current curriculum has caused a lot of
problems to many students all over the country, the prime reason being that the
curriculum doesn’t feature the inclusion of cognitive and reasoning skills
improvement of a student. The curriculum is focused more on quantity rather
than quality and somewhere the quality of education has diminished due to the
widespread use of this curriculum. Students are often left clueless in the
exams as they are not able to complete the vast portion that is assigned to
them, there is no interaction between the teachers and the teachers are also
forced to stick to the curriculum and not try something new. This situation has
to be changed, it can be changed by the introduction of digital classes,
digital classes offer interesting classes with proper practical explanation of
the principle behind the phenomena, the classes are both fun and extremely
informative. A great atmosphere of learning can be created when the digital
classes are combined with extracurricular activities, sports, games and clubs
are essential for students to grows and learn. The new curriculum is slowly but
surely being accepted in many schools and colleges and the teachers and
students alike have started to understand the importance of practical learning.
Essay 5: The current curriculum is focussed too much on
grades and has ignored the most crucial of all skills that is the analytical,
imaginative, cognitive and reasoning skills of a student. The current
curriculum believes in rote learning and does not provide any platform for
students to prove themselves, students are often stranded as they do not have
the proper guidance to do well in the exams. Talented students are seen
securing low scores, which ruins their confidence and the ability to think
outside the box. The current curriculum must be changed, and in my opinion that
can be done by increasing the number of teachers per student, giving more
importance to interactive and practical learning. In the curriculum students
are not encouraged to question or ask doubts as majority of the knowledge is
pretty much theoretical and useless. This has to be changed, the new curriculum
must be a student friendly curriculum, and the students must have fun at the
same time learn crucial concepts without over stressing themselves. There must
be a proctor for students who will guide them in the best direction possible.
Student’s opinions and choices must be heard and elective based system must be
added to the curriculum, this gives the student a great choice to learn
something new, outside their specialisation.
